About a year and a half ago I started losing weight and I didn’t know why. I thought it was really odd because even thought I was losing weight, I was starting to be able to lift more weights than I’ve ever done in the past. I was able to curl more, do more pull ups, do more bench presses, run faster and further, etc.
After some thought, I figured it was because I was eating healthier, because I had just moved out into my own apartment and was too lazy to cook, so I just bought boxes of salad and cooked chicken for lunch and dinner (of course I’d mix it up sometimes too, with tuna, etc)….
I unknowingly stopped eating starches and grains (I never ate much sugar stuff like in sodas since my dad has diabetes) and started shedding weight. I was doing the exact same workout routine I’ve done for the past 4 years….
As a side note, I’ve been thinking about why this information isn’t widely known, and this is just my guess, but I’m thinking there are some really big and entrenched companies who have a lot to lose if people reduced the amount of carbs, grains, starches, sugars, they consumed.
